For this is the story of Chrissy Mazzeo, the former Wynn Las Vegas cocktail waitress who alleges she was kidnapped and threatened with being raped by Nevada Governor james Arnold “Jim” Gibbons and how Gibbons’ crimes were covered up and Mazzeo’s civil rights were violated by the combined acts and conspiracies of Gibbons, nevada king-maker Sigmond “Sig” Rogich, former clark county Sheriff Bill Young, attorney Donald J. Campbell, Chrissy’s ex-best friend, Pennie Mossett-Puhek, and unknown people of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (“Metro”) and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.

HERE IS A RECAP OF CHRISSY’S CASE:
On October 13, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Chrissy Mazzeo was at the McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant having dinner and drinks with her then best friend, Pennie Mossett-Puhek. Pennie spotted Jim Gibbons and Sig Rogich at another table with two other women, sent them a round of drinks and, in response, Pennie and Chrissy were invited over to join their Gibbons’ table. At that time, Gibbons was a member of the United States House of Representatives running for Governor of the State of Nevada with the election on the first Tuesday in November less than a month away.
Mazzeo’s suit alleges Gibbons became intoxicated, told her how boring his marriage of twenty years was, placed his hand on her thigh and invited her to his hotel room; when Chrissy showed no interest in Gibbons, who is thirty years her senior, Gibbons stole Chrissy’s keys off the table, lay in wait for her outside the restaurant for twenty minutes in the rain, offered her his assistance, lured her into a parking garage, vainly tried to seduce her, then seized her, pushed her up against a wall and said, “I’m not going to fuck you. I’m going to rape you.”
According to the suit, three young men running out of the elevator distracted Gibbons, Chrissy kicked Gibbons in the shins, made her escape and ran in her tennis shoes half a mile to the lobby of the La Quinta Inn where she called 911 and then Pennie back at the restaurant to tell her what happened. But according to Chrissy’s suit, Pennie betrayed her and told Gibbons of Chrissy’s whereabouts, and Gibbons next appeared outside the La Quinta Inn, grabbed at Chrissy as she ran past him, and Gibbons said, “You screwed up by calling 911. You’ll be sorry.”
Chrissy alleges that over the next several days, Pennie relayed threats from Rogich saying, “They will hire someone to kill you, your family and your baby....You don’t want to go through with this...Tell the police you don’t want to be involved in a three-ring circus....You don’t know who you’re messing with or who they know...They are going to cut off your arms if you don’t sign a silence paper.”
With respect to the coverup, Chrissy alleges that the first responding Metro officer verified the existence of a garage surveillance tape and said, “Chrissy, we believe you. There is so much evidence. We got the tapes.” But this Metro officer was never heard from again and was not interviewed by Metro detectives. The only tapes produced by the police show the wrong date or time or did not show wet tire tracks through the garage even though it had been raining all evening, and neither Chrissy nor Gibbons appear on the video tapes which were finally produced.
Chrissy’s suit alleges Sheriff Bill Young tipped Gibbons off about every aspect of the investigation, that Gibbons got away with lying to the police, that the parking garage surveillance tapes were destroyed and that Chrissy was slandered, defamed and BLACKLISTED from ever working again in a Las Vegas Casino.
